Gallium doped zinc oxide thin films as transparent conducting oxide for thin-film heaters

The addition of suitable metallic dopants into the indium or zinc oxide matrix is essential to obtain transparent conducting (TCO) thin films for high-performance optoelectronics devices. However, scarcity one major challenges common use doped tin (ITO) as a TCO material future state-of-the-art To overcome challenge, used an alternative traditional ITO and retains both high transparency electrical conductivity. One such potential gallium-doped (GZO). GZO were deposited onto glass well Kapton substrates using pulsed laser deposition technique. Structural, optical, electro-thermal properties these studied assess performance thin-film heaters. samples show good transmittance value greater than 85% in visible range electromagnetic spectrum. At room temperature, resistivity showed 110.46 × 10−4 Ω cm on 2.90 substrate, followed by Joule heating effect, with temperatures reaching more 120 °C at applied voltage ∼12 V. This transparency, cost-effectiveness, low sheet resistance, small surface roughness make unique candidate various practical applications not only electrode but also free heater affordable displays.
